Unfortunately, I have been getting reports that this no longer works on the majority of products. It would seem that Twitter have changed some settings. 😦
It’s pretty rare that I post about stuff like this but after banging my head against the mobile version of the Twitter website on the Blackberry Playbook I did some research and finally came across this solution!
So you have a shiny new tablet/mobile device and for some reason you decide you want to view the Twitter website on it. You type in the address and before you know it you are there, but there is one problem. You notice that you have been sent to the mobile version of the site with no way to access the full website. Normally with most sites there is an option at the bottom of the page to switch to the full site but it’s not available on the mobile Twitter website for some bizarre reason…
…Well fear not. By using the following address you can go to the full website and then just bookmark where the link sends you.
http://mobile.twitter.com/settings/change_ui
(This has been confirmed to work on both the Blackberry Playbook and the iPad)

Thank you sooo much. I was so annoyed w/ the mobile version.
You’re welcome. I’m glad this little bit of information is helping people. I was so annoyed with it myself.
Thank you! It also works if Twitter thinks you are using a mobile when you are actually using a PC.
Dude, thanx a million. I wanted to change my photo on iPad. Your trick works!

Reblogged this on yashuasentertainment and commented:
It really works
Brill! Only a few problems though like unable to change profile pic and a few other settings.
Works like a charm… Thanks!
Amazing. Thanks.
I was really excited to see this bit alas doesn’t work on the Motorola XOOM. Thanks anyway!
That’s unfortunate :(. While it doesn’t have a 100% success rate it’s still a shame when i see it doesn’t work for some people.
THANK YOU!!
I just did this on my Kindle Fire HD and it worked perfectly 🙂
Link still good Jan of 2013
No longer works on Safari/iPad. Stopped working in the last two weeks. HUGE bummer. Still works on desktop browsers. Twitter must have decided to force mobile view onto iPads whether you want it or not. Sucks.
With Google Chrome for iPad, you can get full website Twitter.
As of April 2013 didn’t work on my ipad
Didnt work on the galaxy fml
I would like to update or change things on my profile and it does not allow me to do so . Please help .
What are you looking to update or change?
I’m really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice
blog like this one today.
Yea it didn’t work on my iPhone. It took right back to that mobile site. My laptop quit on me recently & I wanted to make my profile private, but I can’t do it from the app. Sucks I can’t change it from my phone😒
Just tried this on my LG G Pad 8.3 using chrome.
Worked like a charm. Thanks
Awesome. I wasn’t sure if this would still do the job after a this time. Glad to know it can still work.
This just worked on ipad, long enough to deactivate twitter… Woohoo
