HotUKDeals is one of my favourite websites around. Basically whenever some sees what they consider to be a bargain either online or on the high street, they take to this website and they post the deal. People then vote on whether they think it’s a good deal (hot) or a bad deal (cold).

It’s a blessing and a curse as you get some good deals off the website, but then again you spend more money as you buy more shiny things. Anyway for a long time now we have had to rely on unofficial apps, and whilst these have been sufficient (the Android equivalent more so and the iOS versions have felt lacking), we now have an official app.

The app lets you look at deals, search for deals that are near you, share a bargain, view your most recent activity and you can even set up deal alerts. With deal alerts you enter a keyword or keywords and when they are posted as a deal you will get a push notification telling you so.

For those who like to grab stuff on the cheap, the website has always been important in my opinion, but now with an app to accompany the site, you can now wave goodbye to your money on the move whilst looking at all the new shiny things you have been able to acquire.

The HotUKDeals app is available for iOS and Android.

It’s all the rage at the moment and understandably so. It seems that you can’t have a successful company or website with an accompanying mobile app. Today GAME joined the party.

This App is GAME on the move.

Start by using it to sign up to the Reward programme, or to merge and replace your GAME Reward and Gamestation Elite cards.

  • Collect and redeem Reward points through the App.
  • Find your nearest store with the built in store locator.
  • Keep your contact details up to date, don’t miss exclusive offers.
  • Add your gamer tags to your account. We’ll be using these in the future to award your achievements.

What do you get?

  • 2% on purchases
  • Double points for preorders
  • 2.5% on trade-ins
  • Earn through Accolades
  • £1 minimum redemption

This is where your GAME starts…

The app lets you view your reward card points, gives you a QR code for your reward card, which allows you to use your phone to collect or spend points, shows your account details and even supplies a map showing where you are and where the GAME stores are that are near you.

The one thing that I think is missing is the ability to browse their products from the app. It provides a link to the website, but I’m one of those who likes it all in one place. If they were to bolt an Amazon style shopping experience into the app then it would be completely fantastic.

It’s a good solid app in it’s own right though and I love the idea being about to use your phone when it comes to the points. I’m sure they’ll add more features as we go along. In app shopping? A GAME Passbook card for iOS? We can only hope.

Pictures are below and the app is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Blizzard Europe
have just announced that their World of Warcraft Monopoly and Starcraft Risk games are now available to pre-order in the United Kingdom from GAME. They are both retailing at £29.99.

I was hoping to give you the posts from Blizzard but I’m getting a wonderful four-oh-four when I try to follow the link from MMO-Champion, so here is what GAME has to say about them 🙂
